Black Brown Blues and Hues

The Black Brown Blues and Hues exhibit will visually address the link between colorism and depression/low self-esteem throughout the Black Indigenious People of Color (BIPOC) community in America.

It will be an accessible, dynamic state-of-the-art pop-up exhibition that incorporates interactivity. The goal of the Black Brown Blues and Hues exhibit is to reference moments in pop culture related to colorism. In addition, the exhibit seeks to create an opportunity to reflect upon the effects of colorism in the Black community with understanding, introspection and thoughtfulness.

The Black Brown Blues and Hues exhibit will offer a unique art experience for viewers by using images along with various art, media and artifacts to chronicle the plight of BIPOC Women and Men throughout the previous four centuries in America.

Overall the exhibit seeks to shed light on the unacknowledged Caste system in the United States as well as the modern-day effects of such a system.
